We had a terrific week at York's Ebor meeting.
Haskoy won the Galtres Stakes under Ryan Moore. Having broken her maiden on debut on the All Weather at Wolverhampton only 3 weeks previously, she was green throughout but got a terrific ride to prevail in the dying strides. She will probably go to the Group 2 Park Hill next.
State Occasion won the 10f fillies handicap cosily under Rossa Ryan. She has improved steadily through the year, and will now step up to listed company, probably in the John Musker at Yarmouth in mid-September.
Kinross was given the perfect trip through the Group 2 City Of York by Frankie Dettori to win with a bit in hand. He is likely to go for the Prix De La Foret at Longchamp on L'Arc De Triomphe day in early October. He could also take in the Haydock Sprint Cup next month.
Saturday 20th August was a day to remember with 3 other winners. River Of Stars won the Listed Chester Stakes under a fine front running ride from John Egan, who had to be patient 2 hours later on The Gadget Man in the 2 mile handicap to hit the front furlong out, coming off a strong gallop. And Matched capped the day under Dougie Costello at Lingfield. He made a mid race move to take it up nearly 6f out, and won well, breaking his maiden in the process.
