We are currently recruiting at Kimpton Down Stables, offering full time employment.

In recent years there has been shift across the industry to move away from the traditional hours and time off that riders/grooms and yard staff receive, this was done to improve the retention rate of staff by providing a better work/life balance. We believe we are at the forefront of the industry in providing our staff with competitive pay and overtime, good quality accommodation, working conditions and financial loyalty bonuses.

All full-time staff work just one weekend a month, the equivalent of a day off a week, and receive monthly bonuses on top of a competitive weekly salary. We offer excellent accommodation both on and off site, all accommodation has free wifi, daily cooked meals and all bills are included. Accommodation comes with your own locked room, and shared communal areas with Sky TV.

We have an excellent team of experienced staff, many whom have worked for Ralph since we moved to Kimpton over a decade ago. Our less experienced members of staff receive daily help and advice, so that they can improve and grow in confidence quickly within the team. In 2020 we received a Lycetts Award for induction and recruitment.

We are also happy to take on competent riders who have never ridden racehorses, as long as you are willing to learn and work as part of a motivated team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful racing yard.
